Recently the Palm Beach Post focused on local companies going green. Here's what Glades Gas in Belle Glade says:

All employees have a washable Lifetime Filter in their central air conditioning system. This filter traps more dust and allows you to breathe cleaner air. They also keep our landfills from getting clogged up with all those old filters every month.

Half of the employees also have switched their old inefficient electric water heaters to tankless or instantaneous, propane gas water heaters.

Ninety percent of the employees' homes run on clean burning, efficient propane gas.

Black Gold Winners!!

At the annual Black Gold Festival, Glades Gas gave away their very own Mighty Mac Cooker (a.k.a. the last cooker you will ever buy), a U-line Wine Cooler, and two outdoor cookers to four lucky winners.

Jerome Shannon won the Mighty Mac Cooker, Gonzalo Vasquez won the U-line wine cooler, Dorothy Kennedy and Carl Coffie won the outdoor cookers.

The Lighthouse Cafe

Half of the proceeds from our wine cooler raffle at Black Gold Jubilee went to the Lighthouse Cafe in Belle Glade. We presented a $250 check to them to help continue to feed the hungry. Watch the video! 

The Lighthouse Cafe is an interdenominational organization which is located at S.W. Avenue B in Belle Glade. They provide a free hot meal at 11:30 a.m. every day Monday through Friday to anyone in need. Without it many would go hungry in our community. Black Gold

 would like to thank everyone that came out to the Black Gold Festival at the Belle Glade Marina on Saturday, April 17th.

Our turn out was hampered by the rain. Many visitors said they thought that not having a parade also kept people away. We heard one person say that they thought the parade got you fired up to load up and come out to the marina. Everyone who did come out had a great time! It is always beautiful out on the Lake. 

If you haven't been to the Belle Glade or Pahokee Marina in a long time, you are in for a real treat. It is absolutely beautiful out there. We went out several evenings this past week and enjoyed great campside dinners accompanied by the most awesome sunsets in Florida! 

If you have never driven out, take the time and be prepared to take a step back in time.
